Use seam ripper to open up inside seams of jean
legs starting at bottom of one leg all around to
bottom of the second leg. Use scissors to trim away
any thick seams, (this should be no more than 3/8” all
around.)
Open up seams of pieces cut from each leg and trim
away thick seams. Press flat.
Fold open edges of pant legs back about 3/8”,
then pin in place.
Lay jeans down on a flat surface and smooth flat.
Insert one of the cut leg pieces under the opening
at the front of the jeans, so the opening is filled
with the denim. Pin this piece in place. Do the same
for the back opening.
Machine stitch 3/8” in from folded edge of jeans leg. This
will secure the cut leg piece in place. Repeat for other side. Turn
skirt inside out and trim away excess denim from seams. Turn right
sides out.
Trim hem to desired length. Fold under ½”,
pin in place, then machine stitch ¼” up
from fold.
Follow package directions for all
embellishments to decorate your skirt. We used the
Elongated Embellishments along the hem of the skirt
with Large Eyelets between the different strips.
(Note:The Elongated Strips can be cut
apart and used on different parts of the skirt.)
Pinking shears can be used to cut decorative patches
from the iron-on patches in the Repair Kit. A variety
of Micro-Bead Appliques and Denim Patches have been
used all over the skirt. The Iron-On Anchors & Hip
Chains with Charms were used on the back pockets.
