- 4 ¾”x6 ½” Blank Greeting Card
(NOTE: The Micro Bead Appliques are usually
fused in place on fabric and can be fused to paper,
but we have used a synthetic ribbon and thread, so
ironing is not suggested.)
- Use the ruler and pencil to lightly mark a line ¼” in
from all edges. Mark a line dividing this rectangle
in half in length and width.
- Glue ribbon just inside border pencil lines. Corners
can be mitered.
- Use needle to pierce holes along dividing lines
in rectangle each about 3/8” apart, (TIP: Place
a dry sponge under the card so that the needle has
a soft surface to be pressed into.) Thread needle
with rayon thread and use the backstitch to stitch
through pierced holes.
Easy Backstitch Instructions:
a.
Always stitch from right to left
b.
Bring needle up through first hole (A)
c.
Insert into next hole (B)
d.
Bring up through next hole (C)
e.
Insert at end of previous stitch (point B) and bring
up into the next free hole (D)
f.
Repeat until you reach the other side of the card
- Glue hearts and lips in place in the 4 sections
you have created.
- Use marker to write Happy Valentine’s Day
and “kisses.”
